Automation of the quote process
At Alpina Group we automated the quotation process with real-time premium calculations, automated checks, and centralized document generation. Alpina Group (a merger of the Heilbron Groep and the Voogd & Voogd Groep) is one of the largest intermediaries within the financial services sector. Through an extensive network of advisors and a central underwriting department, quotations from a wide range of insurers are requested and presented to corporate clients.
Income and Commercial Non-Life
The Income and Commercial Non-Life departments of Alpina Group employ insurance underwriters. Quote requests from clients are prepared by intermediaries (advisors) and submitted to the underwriters. The underwriter assesses the risk and coverage and, in collaboration with the insurer, provides an appropriate premium quotation. Subsequently, the policy application is submitted, approved, and processed into an insurance policy. Thanks to Quatronic, the Alpina Group is ready for a digital future.

Repetitive Work
Requesting quotations from multiple insurers was a time-consuming and error-prone process for advisors. For each quotation flow, the advisor had to enter the same data repeatedly in order to generate a premium calculation.
Slow Underwriting Process
Issuing a quotation and underwriting a policy application took a significant amount of time. Information was received via email, verified with multiple insurers, and checks were performed manually or in external systems.
Lack of User-Friendliness
Using multiple quotation flows with significantly different processes resulted in a poor user experience when requesting quotes. It also led to fragmented results, documentation, and policy terms.

Within two weeks, a Proof of Concept of the quotation and underwriting software for income insurance was developed. Subsequently, Quatronic deployed a team of three consultants who developed and rolled out the applications within three months. Following its success, commercial non-life insurance products were also added to the software.
The solution has become the central platform for advisors and underwriters at Alpina Group and includes:
- A quotation wizard with dynamic questioning
- Real-time integration with insurers’ premium calculation systems
- Automated checks (including UBO, FISH, RDW, and Roy-data)
- Configurable business rules for underwriting guidelines
- Centralized document generation
The application workflow enables Alpina Group to focus fully on the customer while spending less time on administrative tasks.
Co-creating the solution, maintaining short communication lines, switching quickly when needed, conducting regular evaluations, and closely involving advisors in interim releases. We see this as the ideal way of working toward a successful future.
