CC Retail specializes in supplying sustainable, reusable load carriers to support and optimize logistics in the retail sector. After the split of their parent company, the organization faced the challenge of reinventing itself. Quatronic helped CC Retail turn this challenge into an opportunity and designed a future-proof IT landscape.
The challenge: starting over after the split
The split of CC Retail the parent company offered a unique opportunity to make new choices about their application landscape. CC Retail asked Quatronic for a digital strategy to develop. Together, we formulated answers to essential questions such as: What does the current IT landscape look like? What are the most important business processes? What are the technology design principles? Where is the complexity? Is customization necessary or are the existing applications sufficient? And what are the expected time and costs for implementation?
The goal was to create a future-proof company with clear processes and support systems. These systems must be both user-friendly and efficient for collaborators, and offer customers the ability to place orders themselves, sign contracts, and track items in the customer portal.
The approach: in-depth analysis and strategic planning
We worked thoroughly by talking to all CC Retail employees and observing existing practices. We collected experiences with the current software packages and combined them with our knowledge of the latest technologies. We then brought everyone involved together in a workshop where we discussed the main challenges and made the future direction visual.
Our approach consisted of three phases:
1. Investigating the current situation, systems and processes
· We analyzed CC Retail's strategy, goals, current products, services, and organizational structure.
· We investigated the existing IT landscape and identified the challenges.
2. Defining the direction and goal
· We designed the future business processes.
· We established technological principles that would guide us.
3. Designing the future IT landscape
· We created the architecture of the new IT landscape.
· We made an implementation plan for the transformation.
The result: a clear plan for a future-proof IT landscape
Our efforts resulted in a clear proposal for the design of the IT landscape that optimally matches CC Retail's core business. This included the selection of existing packages and a proposal for which modules still needed to be developed. For the financial and CRM modules, an existing package was chosen, combined with a low-code Order Management and Warehouse Management solution. The user interface was customized in OutSystems, providing a user-friendly and organized customer experience.
We proposed a phased approach: in the short term, the focus is on achieving profit through automation and standardization, eliminating old systems and reducing licensing costs. In the long term, the plan focuses on market growth and expansion of products and services. The plan also includes an overview of the required teams and their associated roles and data responsibilities.
Integral approach
The advisory process, from start to completion of the digital strategy, lasted two months. Quatronic is the driving force behind the entire process, where — as always — we look beyond technology alone. We include all business processes and people in our approach. We identify which processes are essential to the core business and require unique solutions, and which processes can be supported with existing solutions. This integrated approach has allowed us to make a well-considered proposal that seamlessly meets both the technological and operational needs of the organization.
